We’re Celebrating 2 years since uMake Launched!

on December 26, 2017 / by admin

Two years ago today, the first iPad pro hit the shelves at Apple stores and at the same time uMake officially launched on the App Store along as an  Editor’s Choice app for iPad Pro. An exciting moment for us. uMake went on to win a few more awards that year, standing out as one of the best apps of 2015. Since then we’ve been busy building out our vision for uMake – to help you continue to express your ideas with ease in 3D.

We’ve added over 100 new features, and built a global community for sharing feedback and watching others grow in their creative endeavors.

We lifted the limit on how many files you can create with the free version of uMake. Now creatives can create as many designs as their hearts desire in uMake without having to worry about upgrading to a paid subscription.

We also released uMake for iPhone. The iPhone version helps users view their files on the go and explore and interact with the community from anywhere. Our goal with this version of the app was to keep the creation process very simple and quick with custom design kits.

And last, but certainly not least, we brought Augmented Reality to the platform! With the release of ARKit from Apple, augmented reality was a natural addition to uMake. AR gives designers a whole new way to see their creations.

We don’t do it for the accolades, but uMake was once again featured by Apple on the iPad product page this year– something we love to see.

It’s been a great year for us. That said, we could not have done this without you, our community. Through your feedback, posts, encouragement, and support, you have made this journey a blast! And it’s only the beginning.

We look forward to continuing this journey with you!

~ From the entire uMake team.

uMake has provided me with a new tool to employ in the classroom that helps our pupils understand the principles of Computer Aided Design. uMake is built for exclusive use on tablet devices, allowing pupils to express their creativity when design 3D models with technology that they are excited by. The intuitive tools encourage pupils to design without barriers. uMake is an outstanding success in my classroom
